When you encounter a monster on your journey, you’ll usually see an elemental symbol floating above it. This shows the monster’s elemental affinity. Remember, certain weapons you find on your journey will have elemental advantages against specific monsters. However, be cautious! While a weapon might excel against one element, it could be far less effective, even weak, against another element that counters it. As for monster types, you’ll be able to identify them by the label beneath their name. Just like with elements, you can find weapons designed to deal extra damage to specific monster types. The good news is there are no type disadvantages here—only benefits. To make things easier for you, I’ll gift you a special companion, an elemental book pet. It will accompany you on your adventures and help you remember all the elemental matchups. Trust me, with the number of elements in this world, you’ll be glad to have it by your side.
